The Face closes - finally

Emap bosses have taken the decision to close The Face after failing to find a suitable buyer for the magazine.

Emap Consumer Media said despite initial interest in the ailing title, it had been unable to offload the magazine.

The announcement follows weeks of uncertainty, in which speculation suggested up to 20 parties had expressed an interest in the magazine.

A statement said: “We would like to thank editor Neil Stevenson and his team for all their efforts on the magazine

“It is emap’s intention to retain the best creative talent from The Face within the company."
