Weber Shandwick Hires Top Practitioner to Lead Corporate Social Responsibility Practice

Weber Shandwick, the UK’s leading PR consultancy, has appointed Brendan May, Chief Executive of global sustainable development organisation, The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), as the consultancy’s first dedicated head of Corporate Social Responsibility. The one-day per week role sees May taking time out from the MSC, where he has acted as communications director and then CEO since 1998.

May will work closely with Colin Byrne, CEO UK & Ireland, Weber Shandwick on developing a cross-practice CSR consulting group at Weber Shandwick and will provide high level corporate responsibility advice to the agency's clients. He will join Weber Shandwick’s UK board of management and will work across the agency's multi-practice structure, which includes specialist consulting teams in the areas of consumer, corporate communications, financial communications and investor relations, public affairs, technology and healthcare.
